Description

Water-based varnish for creating an aged, crackle effect with acrylic paints on various surfaces (canvas, cardboard, glass, wood, leather). Stir before use. Apply a thin layer of acrylic paint in the desired colour. Prime porous surfaces (e.g. wood) with acrylic primer first. Let the paint dry fully for at least 1 hour. Apply the varnish in one coat with a flat brush (in one direction) or a sponge. After 2 hours apply a second coat of paint over it. Cracks (craquelure) appear almost immediately – the thicker the varnish, the larger and sparser the cracks, revealing the first paint layer underneath. Contrasting colours give the strongest effect. Store tightly closed. Wash brushes and tools with water after use. Rinse skin with water on contact.
